Farewell, Rosario Messina

Posted in Italy on Friday, 01 April 2011. Print

The heart of Rosario Messina, president of FederlegnoArredo and owner of Flou, stopped suddenly on Wednesday March 9, 2011. The furniture world prepared to the iSaloni fair in Milano this April is shocked by the unexpected news.

Farewell, Rosario Messina
— by Xylon

A sudden illness while he was going home with his car... Messina leaves the wife Cettina and the children Cristiana, Massimiliano and Manuela, who are working in the family firm.

He worked in Sicily, his homeland, at Rinascente and then at Zanussi as commercial director. During the 70's he went to Brianza and founded Flou, leader in beds production. He got several career awards and the nomination as "Cavaliere del lavoro"  from President of Republic Giorgio Napolitano.

The name of Rosario Messina is linked to the success of Salone del Mobile, which he directed as president of Cosmit until 2008, when he was elected President of FederlegnoArredo.
