With a new layout for the anniversary edition, the iSaloni have opened its gates on April 12 in Milano, Rho Pero. The kick-off was a strong moment, the assault of the crowd have demonstrated the real high interest of the furniture world for the novelties launched at the 50th Salone.
24th September 1961: the Salone del Mobile makes its first appearance in Milan, brainchild of a small group of furniture makers, representative of the Federlegno trade organisation (now FederlegnoArredo), and organised by Cosmit for the promotion of exports of Italian furniture and furnishing accessories.
The Saloni have come up with a different layout for this special edition, a reflection of the new directions design is taking and the changes in market demand: As always, a great many events are scheduled to take place both at the Fairgrounds and in the city itself. From Tuesday 12th to Sunday 17th April, at the Milan Fairgrounds, Rho.
Right from the very outset, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile has been a harbinger of innovation. Thus it is to innovation that the great collateral event traditionally held alongside the trade fair for the last 50 years, with an eye to the future, will focus this year on looking ahead to the next 50 years. An exhibition that has never simply relied on the resources, but is a leap ahead of them, probing them, going back to their original guiding principles. From 12th April to 1st May in the suggestive setting of Piazza Duomo.
