São Paulo industry grows 6,2% in January
In January, the Pointer of Level of Activity (INA) of the São Paulo industry last week registered high of 6,2% in adjusted terms, second research divulged by the Fiesp and the Ciesp. The improvement, however, is considered "relative" for the director of the Department of Research and Economic Studies (Depecon) of the entities, Pablo Francini. "It is not signal of process of a continuous and vigorous recovery. The crisis continues getting deeper", he evaluated. Without sazonal adjustment, the index went up 0,9% in the monthly ticket. In relation to January of 2008, the activity retracted 15,7%. In the 0 variable that compose the INA, me the notice was on account of the new fall in real sales: -14% in relation to December, and -5,7% in the comparison with January of 2008. The paid wages for the industry, in accordance with the Fiesp, had fallen 7,1% of December for January, while the number of worked hours increased 2,3% in the period. The level of use of the installed capacity (Nuci) lost five points in the period: it passed of 81,4%, in January of 2008, for 76,6% in the last month.
